“My colleague from Maryland, Rep. Elijah Cummings, passed early this morning. Rep. Cummings was a devoted father, husband, and public servant who represented Maryland’s 7^th Congressional District for over 20 years. Rep. Cummings was tough but fair and a gentle giant. He will be sorely missed by his family and in the halls of Congress,” said Rep. Austin Scott. “Vivien and I send our condolences and prayers to Rep. Cummings’ wife, Maya, and their family, friends, staff, and constituents during this time.”
