WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) today released the following statement in response to President Trump’s remarks Monday evening outlining a new strategy guiding U.S. involvement in Afghanistan:

“I commend President Trump’s three prong diplomatic, economic, and military strategy for U.S. involvement in Afghanistan outlined in last night’s remarks,” said Rep. Scott. “The Administration’s new approach with regards to Afghanistan clearly focuses on achieving security for America, stability in Afghanistan, and a continued effort to root out terrorism around the world.”
