A bill to remove the judicial power of the NLRB

Washington D.C. – U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) released the following statement after introducing H.R. 2978; Protecting American Jobs Act.  Twenty-six Members of Congress joined Congressman Scott as original co-sponsors.  To view the original bill text, open the attachment:

“H.R. 2978 is a bill about jobs.  Millions of Americans are currently searching for a job and agencies like the National Labor Relations Board are standing in the way of American businesses creating them.  The uncertainty created by the biased and volatile nature of the NLRB’s judicial decisions is hurting America’s ability to compete globally.

“The Boeing case has shown clearly that the current structure of the NLRB can be used as a stick to promote the political agendas of a select few.  It is time to reform this system, restore fairness, and stop forcing the taxpayer to foot the bill.  This bill simply removes the judicial power of the NLRB. Unions and businesses should resolve their disputes where the rest of us do—in the federal court system.”
