WASHINGTON, D.C.-- U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08), a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), released the below statement after H.R. 8070, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 217-199 with his support. The NDAA sets Department of Defense (DoD) policies and authorizes funding levels for defense programs.

"Georgia is home to nine major military installations, including Moody and Robins AFB," Scott said. "The NDAA puts our servicemembers and their families first and advances important policies to support our warfighters at home and abroad and deter our adversaries."

Rep. Scott managed the rule for the NDAA on behalf of the House Rules Committee.

Throughout the lengthy process of crafting the FY25 NDAA, Scott had 41 bill and direct report language amendments included at his request in the bill and accompanying report, including the most recent amendments below:

An amendment requiring the Air Force to operate no less than three Air Logistics Complexes by amending the composition of the U.S. Air Force under Title 10 of the U.S. Code.

An amendment requiring the Secretary of Defense to establish a common coalition key within the Baltic states for purposes of sharing ammunition for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
