Congressman Austin Scott Statement on Obamacare Repeal Resolution
January 19, 2017WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) today released the following statement on S. Con Res. 3, the FY17 Budget Resolution, which will start the process of reconciliation, instructing committees of jurisdiction to draft the legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare:
“The House of Representatives took an important first step today toward repealing Obamacare,” said Congressman Austin Scott. “Since Obamacare’s passage, Georgians have not only suffered under soaring premiums, but have also seen their options of health insurance providers dwindle to just one in some counties. This is not affordable healthcare, and this certainly is not abundant choice.
“This legislation allows the House to take a step-by-step approach to fix the problems in our healthcare system, like ensuring that the health insurance industry is no longer exempt from the antitrust laws of our country, so that we can make healthcare more affordable and accessible for all Americans.”
