Today, Congressman Austin Scott (R-GA-08), a senior member of the House Agriculture Committee, joined Newsmax’s Shaun Kraisman on “The National Report” to discuss President Biden’s failed agriculture policies, including cancelling the Trump-era “Farmers to Families Food Box Program” and a new policy to pay off USDA farm loans of some socially disadvantaged farmers and foreign nationals, regardless of their immigration status.

In February, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Nestle USA, and others sent a letter to Congressional leadership supporting a loan forgiveness program funded under the American Rescue Plan Act that would provide a payment of 120% of a minority farmer’s outstanding USDA loan debt, with a cap at $2.1 million. Proponents say this program is needed to address longstanding discrimination in USDA’s lending, but farmers don’t have to prove discrimination to receive a payment. Earlier this week, USDA released guidance on the program noting that women are excluded, unless they meet the race or ethnicity requirement, and foreign nationals are eligible, regardless of their immigration status.

During today’s segment, Rep. Scott also touched on the ongoing boycotts over Georgia’s election reforms and China’s increasing role in Central and South America, including their connection to cartels.
