WHAT IS THE CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE?

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to inspire, include, and innovate efforts around STEM, coding, and computer science education.

Current middle and high school students in districts which are hosting an App Challenge code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. 

Dates and Deadlines

  • May 1, 2026 – Congressional App Challenge officially launches, student registration open.
  • October 26, 2026 – Deadline for students to register and submit their app online.
  • November 2026 – Judging period.
  • December 2026 – Winners announced!
