WASHINGTON, D.C.-- U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) today released the following statement after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Joint Address to Congress:

"It was an honor to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress today. October 7, 2023, was the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust, with Hamas killing over 1,200 innocent Israeli civilians. Israel is our close friend and ally, and America stands strong behind Israel as they defend themselves from Hamas terrorists."

Rep. Scott is a senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee and is on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Rep. Scott supported H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provided critical bipartisan aid for Israel, and passed the House on April 20, 2024.
