WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) this week attended the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, Belgium to address the grave crisis to European security provoked by Russia and discussed the Assembly’s priorities for NATO’s new Strategic Concept.

“NATO remains united in the face of global chaos and Putin’s reprehensible behavior,” Rep. Scott said. “This week’s meeting of international parliamentary leaders is a testament to the continued strength of the NATO alliance and our steadfast commitment to defending our allies against foreign aggression.”

NATO is vital to stopping Russia from invading bordering countries like the Baltic nations, Poland, and Romania. The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is essential to building consensus among NATO allies and generating and sustaining public support for decisions affecting international defense.

Rep. Scott met with over 90 lawmakers and world leaders including the Georgia-NATO Interparliamentary Council. The armed forces of the country of Georgia are partnered with the Georgia National Guard as part of the National Guard Bureau’s state partnership program.
