WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) today issued the following statement upon votes on the American Health Care Act of 2017 (H.R. 1628) being postponed.

“Unfortunately, Mark Meadows and a select few members of the Freedom Caucus chose to sabotage legislation that the President and a majority of Republicans in the House wanted to pass that would have eased the burden of increased costs, diminished access to care, and a lower quality of care that resulted from President Obama's healthcare law,” said Rep. Austin Scott. “Doing nothing is not an option, and Americans harmed by the Affordable Care Act deserve better. You can rest assured I will continue working with my colleagues to hammer out real solutions to the hardships millions of Americans have suffered under the ACA for the last several years."
