TIFTON, GA — Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) today released the following statement in response to Hurricane Michael’s projected path through the state of Georgia and additional emergency declarations made by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal on Tuesday:

“As Hurricane Michael moves towards Florida, please keep a close eye on the impacts it will have throughout South and Middle Georgia. While we are certainly no stranger to severe weather events, each storm is different. Please be sure to heed all warnings and take the necessary steps to protect and prepare your family, property, and pets for the oncoming storm,” said Rep. Scott.

With this storm, constituents can expect dangerous and damaging winds, rainfall, and flooding throughout Middle and South Georgia, with the possibility of tornadoes and other highly destructive winds. Residents are urged to follow all warnings and prepare their family and property for the threat of the impending storm.

Yesterday, Congressman Scott led the Georgia Delegation in sending a letter to President Donald Trump requesting expedited emergency resources to aid counties in Georgia expected to be impacted by Hurricane Michael. Click here to read more.
