WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08), a Member of the House Agriculture Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy and Credit, today released the following statement upon President Donald Trump announcing that the United States, Canada, and Mexico have reached an agreement on the renegotiated North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), now formally known as the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“I congratulate President Trump on the announcement of reaching a trilateral agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada to replace NAFTA with an updated and modernized trade deal,” said Rep. Scott. “I look forward to carefully analyzing the text and working with the Trump Administration to ensure this proposal benefits America’s farmers, businesses, and consumers.”
