WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) released the below statement following President Donald Trump’s announcement to declare a national emergency to secure our southern border:

“I am very disappointed that the spending package passed in the House last night did not include adequate funds for addressing the grave security and humanitarian crises along our southern border. Congress’ inaction has inevitably forced President Trump to declare a national emergency to meet the needs at the border,” said Rep. Scott.
