WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) today released the following statement on the Obama Administration’s proposed nuclear deal with Iran:

“Iran has already displayed its untrustworthiness by blatantly cheating during the term of the interim agreement that was set,” said Congressman Austin Scott.  “It is foolhardy for the President to expect a state-sponsor of terrorism which is committed to the destruction of Israel to adhere to the terms of this agreement.  In exchange for lifting the economic sanctions, we are just hoping that the Iranians will not ignite a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.  I look forward to scrutinizing every detail of this agreement over the next 60 days to ensure that the safety of Americans remains our top priority.”
